Sun Licheng, Party secretary of Jinan, inspected the Jinan International Financial City in Lixia district on July 3 and stressed that high standards should be insisted on during construction.

The five skyscrapers in the Financial City stand for the most important characteristics of Jinan - "Mountain", "Spring", "Lake", "River" and "City".

The tallest skyscraper will be the Shandong International Financial Center, with a designed height of 428 meters. Completion of its construction is planned for the end of 2021, and its core tube has so far been constructed to 50 floors.

The 330-m-high CITIC Pacific Building is due for completion in May 2022. And the other three, the MIXC, the Fosun International Center and the Ping'an Finance Center, which will be 240, 260 and 360 meters high respectively, are due for completion in December 2022.

The Ribbon Park project covers a total area of about 220,000 sq m, including 147,600 sq m of green area and 7,800 of water. The first phase of the project was finished on September 28, 2019 and already opened to the public with two giant sunshades shaped as shells in the south. It boasts huge underground space and will connect with subway stations and surrounding buildings in the future.

Sun listened to the introduction of regional planning and investment promotion of the international financial city project, and required speeding up of construction of the five skyscrapers and the central park with quality and safety ensured. He also suggested introducing more talents as well as investments for better development in the city.

Surrounded by mountains and criss-crossed by rivers and lakes, Jinan has abundant water resources. It is noted for its 72 famous springs and anticipates being known as "the City of Springs", among which Baotu Spring is honoured as the "Best Spring in the World".
