Lixia district in Jinan, capital of Shandong province has ranked first in the city's comprehensive performance evaluation of high-quality development in 14 consecutive years, taking steady steps to become a world-class district.

The total economic volume and quality development of the city has continued to improve, with the regional GDP increasing from 83.7 billion yuan ($11.58 billion) in 2012 to 212.4 billion yuan in 2021.

The economic capacity in the district has become stronger. Over the past 10 years, a total of 259 projects worth over 100 million yuan have been launched, with a total investment of 365.9 billion yuan.

Lixia has also prioritized the conservation of ecology in the past decade. Currently, air quality has hit a record level, a total of 53 hills have been greened, and 64 urban parks have been built. With all 100 major roads reaching the provincial cleaning standard, Lixia's urban management has passed the national standardization pilot acceptance.

Lixia has worked hard for the benefit of the public. Over the past 10 years, a total of nearly 47.85 billion yuan has been put in social undertakings and improving people's livelihood. There were 77 primary and secondary schools and kindergartens newly built, renovated or expanded, and 53,000 majors have been added to local universities and colleges.

Lixia has implemented the "1+3+4+N" cadre selection and management project to establish better leadership in the area. The district received one civil servant and one team award for winning the people's appreciation at the national level, and 24 civil servants and eight teams won awards at provincial and municipal levels.

In the future, Lixia plans to vigorously promote the construction of the central business district and create a cluster for the headquarters economy and financial institutions while becoming more digitalized.
