Lixia has made great efforts in improving people's livelihood and has yielded fruitful results this year.

To increase employment, Lixia led all of districts and counties in Jinan, capital of Shandong province with the creation of 37,100 new jobs by the end of September. At the same time, 52 job fairs were held, 281 entrepreneurs received 55.46 million yuan ($7.59 million) of loan, and 5.89 million yuan in employment subsidies were awarded to college graduates.

Lixia works hard to maintain its top spot in education by using its "double reduction" methodology. Twelve new kindergartens, primary schools, and high schools were built, and the education system welcomed roughly 600 new teachers in order to maximize the distribution of educational resources.

Furthermore, the district has continued to focus on improving the educational environment and managing the district to make it more livable. Ten greenways and six city gardens have been built in the area and the air quality in the district ranks first in the city.

The district has also taken active steps to ease potential societal concerns. A poll of how the public feels about their safety was conducted and a variety of conflict solving methods including the intervention of police and lawyers were introduced. The district has been recognized as a demonstration district for safety in China.
