A unique folk culture temple fair is being held at Qianfo Mountain scenic spot in Lixia district, Jinan, Shandong province from April 20 to May 3, highlighting the charm of traditional Chinese culture, as well as presenting an audio-visual feast for visitors from China and abroad.

The 14-day event falls on the third month of the lunar calendar to celebrate China's folk festival Sanyuesan, which in Chinese refers to the third day of the third lunar month.

This year's fair caters to the needs of young people and aims to create an unforgettable travel experience for tourists.

A model contest on hanfu, or traditional Chinese attire, will be held for the first time in which award-winning models will parade around the scenic area with stunning ancient-style clothes.

A series of cultural performances integrating folk art, traditional operas, and intangible cultural heritage items will also be staged during the fair.

In the exhibition area of handicrafts focusing on intangible cultural heritage items, inheritors create tailor-made artworks, such as sugar paintings, dough sculptures, and facial makeup, for tourists. There are also cartoon characters like Doraemon and Ultraman that promise to be a hit with children.

The Qianfo Mountain Slideway, a popular scenic spot that has resumed normal operation recently, is also a must-try activity during the fair.
