Lixia district has prioritized an urban development strategy focused on creating a "one axis, three zones, many parks" framework in 2023. This approach emphasizes robust project execution, economic vitality, governance enhancement, and improved public services to establish Lixia as a top-tier international urban district.
The Jinan old city project, a provincial and municipal priority for 2024, is centered around the Quancheng Road and Daming Lake areas. Covering 110,000 square meters, it involves restoring 80 heritage sites and 105 traditional courtyards to revive the district's historic charm. The project also includes upgrading 55 streets with enhanced infrastructure and public facilities while fostering cultural, tourism, and commercial integration.
Since its launch in August, 2021, the project has balanced heritage preservation and modern development, creating a dynamic cultural hub. Highlights include the reopening of Baijiazhou Park and bustling heritage streets, now popular tourist destinations and a recognized example of innovative urban renewal.
