A South Korean journalist recently visited the Suwon Garden in Jinan's Lixia district, an important symbol of cultural exchange between the two sister cities.

Jinan established a sister-city relationship with Suwon – a city in South Korea known for its rich history and culture – in 1993. Since then, the two cities have carried out exchanges in a wide range of fields.

The Suwon Garden, completed in December 2021, covers an area of 1,860 square meters. Inspired by Hwaseong Fortress, the garden is designed around one central axis with three distinct sections.

The site features traditional South Korean-style gates and pavilions, with intricate woodwork and vivid decorative paintings recreating the atmosphere of a royal garden. In addition, exhibitions portray everyday life in ancient times, blending aesthetics with folk culture.
