On June 12, the Artistic Affection from Afar: Overseas Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition opened at the Lixia district cultural center in Jinan, Shandong province. The exhibition features over 40 works by overseas Chinese artists Chen Hua and Li Fang, blending traditional Chinese brushwork with international artistic influences.

At the opening ceremony, Chen Hua, vice president of the Lixia Overseas Friendship Association, expressed his love for his hometown. Though living abroad, he said overseas Chinese remain proud of their heritage and strive to be cultural ambassadors through their art. Chen and Li also donated two original paintings created specifically for the exhibition to the Lixia cultural center.

Since its establishment, the Lixia Overseas Friendship Association has played a vital role in promoting cultural exchange and economic cooperation. Chen Hua and Li Fang, as distinguished members of the association, have used their artistic talents to build bridges between China and the world—earning international acclaim while staying deeply connected to their roots.

This exhibition not only shows the artistic excellence of overseas Chinese but also reflects their heartfelt bond with home. It provides a platform for strengthening global cultural ties and supports Lixia's ongoing efforts to enhance international engagement and promote cultural prosperity.
