This summer, Baotu Spring Scenic Area in Lixia district, Jinan, Shandong province is offering a refreshing escape with a citywide celebration of culture, tradition, and seasonal charm.

Four iconic parks – Baotu Spring, Wulongtan Park, Daming Lake, and the moat – are joining forces to bring locals and visitors a multisensory summer experience. From moonlit boat rides to lively markets and folk performances, the city is alive with the sights, sounds, and tastes of a classic Jinan summer. A special all-access summer pass makes it easy to explore it all.

On July 26, the Spring Water Market opened at Daming Lake, transforming the lakeside into a poetic wonderland. Four transparent glass houses inspired by Jinan's landscapes hosted a creative mix of local brands, artisan goods, traditional crafts, herbal drinks, and immersive cultural games. Across the lake at Matou Sqaure, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Market brought together handcrafted treasures and Jinan's beloved snack brand, Xueji Roasted Goods.

At Baotu Spring, the water is surging after recent rains, drawing crowds to sip spring tea, enjoy local treats, and unwind at the lakeside teahouse. Nearby, Wulongtan Park is a haven for families, with water fights, crafts, live music, and performances running through late August. And along the city moat, the Moat-side Market offers a dreamy riverside stroll filled with lotus blooms, spring-inspired snacks, and summer joy.
