The first Shandong Humanoid Robot Football Competition opened in Lixia district, Jinan, on April 26, bringing together university and middle school teams to showcase the latest advances in humanoid robotics and artificial intelligence.

Unlike traditional robot competitions, all participating robots operated fully autonomously without remote control. Powered by integrated vision systems and AI algorithms, the robots completed a range of tasks including ball recognition, passing, tactical coordination, and scoring, demonstrating the rapid progress made in the development of humanoid robot technology and intelligent algorithms in Shandong.

Ten teams took part in the tournament, including representatives from Shandong University and Shandong University of Science and Technology. After multiple rounds of competition, the team from Shandong Jianzhu University claimed the championship.

The event also highlighted Lixia's efforts to foster innovation-driven development by creating a platform for technological exchange, talent cultivation, and industry collaboration. As emerging industries such as robotics and AI continue to grow, the district is accelerating the development of a dynamic innovation ecosystem.
