Jinan Low-altitude Economic Development Group, a State-owned enterprise based in Lixia district, is advancing Jinan's low-altitude economy through extensive drone infrastructure and smart urban governance applications.
The company has created a low-altitude smart network with 201 automated drone hangars, enabling more than 300 flights per day and fully automated inspections across Jinan. By the end of 2026, they expect to have 310 hangars, forming a "five-minute response" network across key urban areas.
To boost operational efficiency, the company introduced a digital low-altitude flight management platform, reducing flight approval times from several hours to just minutes. Backed by over 130 AI algorithms, the platform enables integrated "air-ground-cloud" coordination and supports more than 70 application scenarios in urban management.
The drone network is already being used in a wide range of sectors, including the country's first non-contact gas leak detection system, real-time forest fire monitoring, and traffic management during peak hours. The number of application scenarios is projected to exceed 100 by the end of 2026.
Beyond public governance, drone technology is enhancing the city's tourism appeal, with large-scale drone light shows emerging as a new feature of Jinan's nighttime economy and urban landscape.
