Lixia district, Jinan was included among the second batch of the "all-for-one" tourism pilot areas in Shandong province, according to a list recently released by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
Lixia district is located in downtown Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, and boasts rich tourism resources. It is home to several world renowned attractions like the World's Best Spring Scenic Area, Qianfo Mountain, and Daming Lake.
The numerous natural springs and weeping willows in the old downtown area give the northern city a distinctive Jiangnan-style appearance, which refers to the area south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
The Mingfucheng Historical Area in the district serves as a window for the outside world to learn about Jinan as a thousand-year-old city.
The idea of "all-for-one" tourism was first brought up in 2017 in China's government work report, focusing on the country's growing demand for tourism products and services, as well as the need to facilitate an economic transition. A total of 10 districts and counties in Shandong were included on the list of "all-for-one" tourism pilot areas.
