A bird's-eye view of Jinan's Central Business District
As the downtown area of Jinan in East China's Shandong province, Lixia has been leveraging its position to make the city's economy stronger.
Among the 12 (reserve) featured industrial buildings, which were recently released by the development and reform commission of Jinan, there were five buildings located in Lixia district, and among the first batch of 181 headquarters enterprises released this year, there were 11 enterprises located in Lixia, which is the greatest number from Shandong province.
The five buildings boast a great number of featured industries, including internet retail and wholesale, information technology consulting services and non-public offerings of securities investment funds.
In 2021, the 11 headquarters enterprises generated a total tax revenue of more than 23 billion yuan (about $3.3 billion), and the total main business revenue hit 430 billion yuan.
Currently, there are around 720 financial institutions located in Lixia. In the first half of this year, the added value created by the financial industry in Lixia accounted for 48.9 percent of the total in Jinan, an increase of 44.2 percent from that in 2021. At the same time, there were three buildings whose monthly tax revenue surpassed 100 million yuan.
In the first half of this year, Jinan's Central Business District (CBD), which is located in Lixia district, was home to more than 6,500 high-quality enterprises, 18 of which were ranked among the top 500 businesses in the world. These enterprises are essential to the city's economic growth.
