According to the landscaping service center of Lixia district, Jinan, Shandong province, the city's sea of tulips will blossom at the beginning of April, local media reported on March 3.

This year's tulip planting area in Jinan will be 8,000 square meters, primarily at popular outdoor locations such as the Jinan Olympic Sports Center, the ribbon-shaped park in Jinan CBD, and Quancheng Square, as well as along Jingshi Road, so that visitors can admire and take photos, according to landscaping service center technician Zhang Hong.

This year's total planting area will be 2,000 sq m larger than last year, which was a magnet for visitors in April, 2021.

This year, in addition to the traditional pink tulips, more yellow tulips will be planted, and new tulip varieties, such as pink flowers with a golden rim, will be added to the sea of tulips to create breathtaking views around the city.

At the parterre in front of the commercial center Mixc, many tulip bulbs have begun to sprout.

"The tulip bulbs were planted into the flower beds in December 2021, and will blossom at around the end of March and the beginning of April and last for 15 to 20 days," Zhang added.
