Jinan's Central Business District (CBD) was established in 2015 in Lixia district, and in the past seven years, the place has served as an engine driving Jinan's economy toward high-quality development and an economic highland in Shandong province. Currently, the CBD has become a gathering place for Shandong's financial industry enterprises, and enjoys a booming headquarters economy.

Famous for towering buildings, the CBD showcases the economic achievements that have been made in Jinan. Twenty-six tall buildings with floor areas up to 1.36 square meters were finished by the end of 2022, in the CBD. Jinan's development is expected to be accelerated in the future by the construction of more tall buildings, and 13 of which are estimated to be over 200 meters tall.

In 2019, Jinan's CBD was included in the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and in 2022, it was added to China's top 20 competitive central business districts list. The continuous progress of the CBD highlights its importance in boosting Jinan's economy and serves as an example of Jinan's hardworking residents.

Furthermore, the CBD values the development of industries and the improvement of the living environment. A sizable area has been built beneath the CBD to accommodate services like parking, shopping, and transportation for neighboring workers. Also, close proximity to the CBD, there are additional open green spaces and extensive walking trails.
