As the central urban area of Jinan, a city located in East China's Shandong province, Lixia is striving to become more modernized by creating a more favorable business environment and making itself greener and more livable.
In the past 10 years, Lixia has taken a great economic leap, with its gross domestic product increasing from 83.7 billion yuan ($12.14 billion) in 2012 to 228.29 billion yuan in 2022.
It continues to regard innovation as a key economic driver while giving full play to the advantages of the headquarters economy and clusters of financial institutions.
In 2021, there were more than 720 financial institutions located in Lixia, and the added value of the financial industry reached 43.8 billion yuan, accounting for 44.2 percent of the city's total. The number of headquarters enterprises at the municipal level surpassed 62, ranking first in the city.
Lixia also boasts a great number of streets that are worth visiting. As an old street with a distinctive style, Furong Street is widely recognized as "the most popular snack street in Shandong" as it sells various snacks from different regions in China.
For those who would like to search for peace, Qushuiting Street is an ideal place. Located to the south of Daming Lake, the street enjoys numerous ancient houses, and in summer, people enjoy standing on bridges to appreciate stunning lotus flowers floating atop rivers.
Furthermore, the central business district (CBD) continues to inject new energy into the economic growth of Lixia, which has more than 500 high-end enterprises located in the CBD, including 17 of Fortune Global 500 enterprises and around 40 financial giant regional headquarters.
