Jinan's Lixia district in Shandong province held a news conference on investment promotion and a signing ceremony for key projects in the Changling high-tech zone on Feb 15 to accelerate the development of emerging economy and pillar industries such as biomedicine, new generation information technology and venture capital funding.
Sun Bin, vice-mayor of Jinan, said at the conference that in recent years the Changling high-tech zone has built platforms for enterprises in the healthcare and information technology industries. In the future, Jinan will offer more favorable policies, services and a good business environment.
Li Yonghua, inspector of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province, said the province has focused on manufacturing and digitalization and implemented a package of policies to enhance the industrial economy and help small and medium-sized enterprises.
Yang Futao, deputy Party secretary of Lixia, said the district is concentrating on "strengthening the provincial capital" and speeding up the construction of a new urban development pattern of "one axis, three areas and multiple parks".
As one of the "three areas", the Changling zone focuses on biomedicine and the new generation of information technology and aims to create an emerging industrial cluster. "We will allow enterprises to invest with peace of mind and jointly make greater contributions to the construction of 'healthy Jinan' and 'digital Jinan'," Yang said.
During the event, Yang signed cooperation agreements with representatives from eight companies including BioKangtai, Lushang Group and Shandong Environmental Protection Co.
