On July 16, Shunjing community in Daming Lake subdistrict, Lixia district, teamed up with the School of Economics and Management at Shandong Youth University of Political Science to host an event titled "The Charm of Paper-Cutting: Cultural Heritage and Practice". The event welcomed expatriates living in Jinan to discover the beauty of Chinese paper-cutting art through a blend of cultural storytelling and hands-on experience.

Professional social workers ensured every aspect of the event, from activity design to on-site coordination, ran smoothly. Volunteers from the university's social practice team served as cultural ambassadors, introducing the origins, regional styles, and symbolic meanings of this centuries-old folk art. Their guidance helped foreign guests gain a deeper appreciation for what is often called "art at the fingertips".

After the introduction, participants eagerly joined the practice session. Volunteers offered patient, one-on-one instruction on folding techniques and scissor skills, while social workers created a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Though many were first-time learners, their creativity shone through as vibrant red paper was transformed into delicate, personalized designs.

Before leaving, the guests gifted their handmade paper-cuttings to the community, inscribing heartfelt wishes and signatures. These unique works not only preserved a special memory but also highlighted how traditional culture thrives in cross-cultural exchange, adding new warmth and vitality to community life in Lixia district.
