A new cultural tourism block opened to the public in Lixia district, Jinan on July 25 to carry out tourism events over the summer holiday.
The block is located at the spot connecting Qifang Lane and Furong Alley, two vibrant business streets, and along the alley lies the Shandong Arts and Crafts Exhibition Center. It serves as a network cooperating with other attractions such as Qushuiting Street and the Baihuazhou Historical and Cultural Block, forming a complex of culture, business, entertainment and tourism.
The block promotes the integration of handicraft and cultural tourism to pave the way for the growth of local industries such as travelling and handicraft manufacturing. It features stores operating out of old containers, which are more flexible than traditional buildings, while art devices create new shopping experiences for tourists. There are also cafes, pubs and events related to handicrafts to the various demands of consumers.
In addition, the tourism block is offering a Song Dynasty (960-1279) experience to tourists over the summer holiday. Tourists can enjoy traditional music and dance in Furong Alley, as well as scenic sights on Qifengqiao Street.
The block is a vivid demonstration of how Lixia district is entering a new stage of development, where tourism integrates with culture and business.
