Lixia district in Jinan, Shandong province has maintained steady industrial growth over the past three years, with output rising at an average annual rate of over 10 percent. In 2022, it was ranked among China's Top 100 Industrial Areas, reflecting its solid foundation and strong momentum.
Officials noted that the district has been focusing on strengthening key industries and optimizing its industrial structure. By strengthening institutional support, closely monitoring economic performance, and coordinating timely assistance, Lixia has helped enterprises recover over 10 million yuan (around $1.4 million) in economic losses while ensuring safer production environments.
Industrial investment has also surged. Since the start of this year, Lixia has completed 1.11 billion yuan in industrial projects, up 79.2 percent year-on-year. Manufacturing investment grew by 59.9 percent, while technological upgrading rose by 41.5 percent, all exceeding provincial and citywide averages.
Digital infrastructure is rapidly advancing, with 7,986 5G base stations offering full coverage and leading broadband speeds citywide. The digital transformation rate among major industrial enterprises has reached 92 percent, earning provincial recognition as an outstanding achievement in industrial digitalization and smart upgrading.
Lixia is also accelerating the cultivation of enterprises, fostering 494 innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), 270 specialized and sophisticated firms, and nine nationally recognized high-growth innovative SMEs. By enhancing research and innovation, Lixia district strengthens its competitiveness and continues to play a vital role in Jinan's high-quality industrial development.
