In 2024, the software industry in Lixia district, Jinan, achieved a total output of 80 billion yuan ($11 billion), marking a year-on-year growth of over 15 percent and highlighting the district's vital role in Jinan's push for new-style industrialization. Aligned with citywide industrial strategies and Lixia's priority sectors, the district has prioritized innovation-led growth and high-quality project development, earning recognition as one of China's Top 100 Industrial Counties and Districts and a leader in quality and technology in Shandong province.
Lixia's two core industry clusters continue to thrive. In electronic information, more than 150 firms – including newly listed Shandong Cvicse Middleware Co Ltd – have settled in the AI and Minghu digital parks, helping establish Shandong's first "Flying Geese" industry cluster. In modern biomedicine, the 300,000 square meters Lishan International Cell-Medicine Park now offers services for contract development and manufacturing organizations of cell therapies (CDMO) and public laboratory facilities, attracting 60 high-quality enterprises.
Industrial performance remains robust. Forty-nine major manufacturers generated 42.2 billion yuan in output, with manufacturing accounting for 92.8 percent of the total. Nearly 8,000 5G base stations and a planned 400-petaflop AI computing center are accelerating digital transformation, already covering 92 percent of key firms.
Innovation is flourishing. R&D investment reached 38.4 billion yuan, backed by a 78 billion yuan guidance fund. Technology contracts totaled 11.9 billion yuan, reinforcing Lixia's momentum toward smart, green growth.
