On May 16, the Jinan Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, in collaboration with the Shandong Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Jinan Council for the Promotion of International Trade, hosted a special economic and trade exchange event. The 2025 Belt and Road business delegation brought together 50 representatives from 14 countries, including Moldova, Iraq, Colombia, and Uganda, to explore new opportunities in economic cooperation.

During the promotional meeting, Zhang Yan, deputy general manager of Jinan Guoshang Park Operations Management Co Ltd, introduced the International Trade Industrial Park located in the Jinan Central Business District. Zhang detailed the park's strong infrastructure, supportive policies, and customized services, inviting the international guests to visit the site and experience its unique offerings firsthand.

In the afternoon, the delegation toured the industrial park, gaining deeper insight into Jinan's economic potential while experiencing traditional Chinese culture. This visit strengthened dialogue and understanding, paving the way for broader trade cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The day concluded with a visit to the Shandong (Jinan) Artificial Intelligence Island, where delegates explored cutting-edge developments in the digital economy and next-generation information technologies. Immersed in the island's main exhibition area, the guests witnessed AI applications in manufacturing, transport, healthcare, and education, highlighting Jinan's growing role as a national hub for AI innovation.
