On Jan 9, Lixia district in Jinan held the fourth session of its 19th People's Congress, celebrating its achievements in 2024 and outlining bold plans for the future. The district maintained its position as a leader in economic and social development, securing its 16th consecutive inclusion in Jinan's high-quality development performance evaluation and ranking first among municipal districts in Shandong province.

In 2025, Lixia district will embrace Jinan's project enhancement initiative to drive progress. Key priorities include a new urban framework of ''one axis, three areas, and multiple parks'', with efforts focusing on project expansion, industrial innovation, and governance improvements. The district aims to execute 200 major projects with a combined investment of 80 billion yuan ($12.3 billion), while accelerating 73 key developments.

Heritage preservation will see a boost with 50 courtyards in Mingfucheng Ancient City slated for restoration, alongside redevelopment of Quancheng Road's business district. Meanwhile, key projects in the Jinan Central Business District, such as the collaborative development building and the completion of high-end facilities like the Xintai Center, will enhance the district's economic and tourism appeal.

The Shandong Lixia Economic Development Zone, spanning 335.48 hectares, will focus on big data, biomedicine, and future industries like robotics and life sciences. Innovation remains central, with plans to support 50 new tech firms and achieve technology contract transactions worth 12 billion yuan.

Positioning itself as a hub for AI and advanced industries, Lixia is set to lead in Jinan's modernization and high-quality growth and make 2025 a pivotal year for the district.
