In the first three quarters, Lixia district in Jinan reported a GDP of over 200 billion yuan ($28.4 billion), marking a 5.5 percent year-on-year increase and contributing 19.5 percent to the city's total. The financial sector produced 44.18 billion yuan, making up over 40 percent of Jinan's total financial output.
The district's growth is driven by strengths in key areas. In the Mingfucheng area, preservation and renewal efforts are underway, including the restoration of streets like Houzaimen street and cultural landmarks such as the Baihuazhou Historical and Cultural Block.
The Central Business District (CBD) has become a hub for high-end industries. Landmark projects like the Shandong International Financial Center are under construction, fostering clusters in finance, law, and other service sectors.
The Lixia Economic Development Zone focuses on innovative industries such as modern medicine and electronic information, attracting major companies like Dong'e Ejiao and Shandong Chuangshiweina Technology.
Lixia has advanced significantly with its projects. A total of 71 key projects at the provincial, municipal, and district levels have been implemented, with a combined investment of 126.5 billion yuan. This year, 60 new projects have launched, and 77 projects are planned through 2026, with a total investment of 83.44 billion yuan.
In the first 10 months, the district attracted 43 new projects with capital exceeding 100 million yuan, totaling 48.22 billion yuan, while 125 high-quality enterprises have settled in the district.
In public services, the district has made notable progress. The Yinfeng Medical Plaza combines medical services, education, and research. Ten schools have been newly built or expanded, adding 6,300 school places, and 99 percent of preschool-age children now have access to education.
A three-tier elderly care network has been established, providing a "15-minute elderly care service circle" for residents. Urban renewal continues with the renovation of older residential communities and the construction of 45 new parks.
