In the first quarter of 2025, Lixia district in Jinan maintained its position as Jinan's leading economic powerhouse, with a total GDP of 602.6 billion yuan (approximately $87.8 billion). This solid performance surpassed all other districts in the city, underlining the district's key role in driving the region's economic development.

Lixia's GDP growth was largely driven by its dominance in the service sector, particularly in finance and technology, which accounted for nearly 80 percent of its output. The district's thriving modern service industries have attracted numerous high-end talents and businesses, fostering a vibrant innovation ecosystem.

In addition to its strong performance, Lixia is also tackling challenges posed by limited space for expansion. As Jinan's core district, Lixia is committed to driving economic growth through strategies that focus on optimizing existing resources and expanding new opportunities.

This year, the district aims to further grow its international presence by attracting over 50 projects from outside the city, including high-value international and Global Fortune 500 projects, along with more than eight major state-owned enterprise headquarters. These initiatives reflect the district's vision of becoming a leading international city center.
