Over 40 expats studying and working in Jinan, along with community residents, gathered to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year in the Shunjing International Community in Lixia district, Jinan on Feb 1.
Jinan artists gave splendid traditional performances, including a Peking opera performance, which was melodious and captivating. Expats from countries including Germany and the Philippines tried their hands at Chinese calligraphy, writing their best wishes for the Chinese New Year. Attendees also ate steaming hot dumplings and sweet glutinous rice balls, savoring the unique flavors of the festival in Jinan.
During the event, Pang Long, deputy director of the foreign affairs office of Jinan, welcomed expats from various countries to enjoy the Chinese New Year holiday in Jinan and wished them a vibrant and fruitful year in life, work, and friendship.
Awards were also presented to both Chinese and foreign volunteers in the community, encouraging them to continue their efforts in the new year as ambassadors of friendship bridging Jinan with the rest of the world.
