Wang Xuetao's Art Exhibition opened on Dec 22 at the Wang Xuetao Memorial Hall in Baotu Spring Park, Jinan, and runs through Feb 23, 2026. The exhibition runs alongside the special exhibition Qi Baishi and his Disciples from Shandong.
Wang (1903–1982) was a master of modern Chinese freehand flower-and-bird painting and an influential art educator dedicated to advancing innovation in Chinese painting.
As a disciple of Qi Baishi (1864–1957), a renowned ink artist, Wang inherited Qi's style in flower-and-bird painting while adding his own creative touch. His works are characterized by dynamic compositions, vibrant and refreshing colors, and subjects inspired by everyday life.
The exhibition showcases Wang's artworks across different stages of his career, highlighting his contributions to modern Chinese painting and his role in promoting artistic innovation.
