Lixia district in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, was ranked on the 2025 CCID China's Top 100 Districts list.
The honor reflects its strong economy, well-established industries and high-quality services.
Accounting for only one percent of Jinan's land, Lixia contributes nearly 20 percent of the city's GDP. In 2024, its GDP reached 257.78 billion yuan ($35.91 billion), growing 5.6 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, its total economy has ranked first in this city for several consecutive years.
Lixia's economic achievements are enabled by its effective urban development strategy, which balances historical preservation with industrial development. The CBD has become a landmark for high-end enterprises, talent, and consumption.
By 2024, the district hosts 350 financial institutions at or above the municipal level, contributing half of the city's financial sector value added, and more than 60 municipal-level and above headquarters enterprises, accounting for over one-quarter of the city's total.
In the future, Lixia will continue to consolidate its industrial foundation and pursue breakthroughs, especially in electronics, information technology and biomedicine.
Recognizing the importance of an enabling business environment, the district is committed to improving services and efficiency. In 2024, its one-stop comprehensive service allowed 92 percent of approval items to be handled through a single window, streamlining procedures and energizing the market.
